Service Guidelines:
1. All waste must be bagged or bundled for removal

Terms & Conditions
With our service customers will receive dependable weekly curbside pickup of household waste. To provide the best service, increase efficiency and promote safe waste collection please follow our "Waste Guidelines" and adhere to "Terms and Conditions". Customers are obligated for service for the period of their invoice. Cancelling service must be done no later than 7days prior to customers final invoice.
Bin placement:
SVG bin(s) must:
a. be curbside the night before service
b. be clear and visible from the road
c. not be obstructed by vehicles, mailboxes, shrubs, etc.
d. not be retrieved before they are serviced
Door Service: (DISCONTINUED)
All bins must be:
1. Outside your door the night before scheduled service
2. No further than 75 feet from street for service
3. Minimum of 4' wide path clear of vehicles, etc. to access bin(s)
Accepted Waste:
Your service covers standard (Class I) household waste. All waste must be in tied trash bags. We accept moving boxes ONLY if they are broken down. More than 3 boxes must be bundled.
Overage Waste:
Defined as any waste outside your bin(s) or that prevents your lid(s) from closing securely. Any "non-household" (Class IV) waste falls under overages. Class IV waste must be sorted and billed separately and therefore IS NOT covered under standard service.
Free Overage Waste Conditions:
Free overages are given ONLY as an incentive to customers who adhere to the "Waste Guidelines". Customers who follow all "Waste Guidelines" shall receive (6) free overages annually. Should your free overages be suspended a $30.00 fee may be required to restore overages. Overages either free or purchased shall not transfer and must be used by the end of each fiscal year. Additional overages may be purchased should free overages run out within a fiscal year (see "Overages" page).
Prohibited Waste:
Remodeling: Wood, Drywall, Paint, Etc. -Call/Text for bulk pickup (865) 548-2900

Bulk Waste: Televisions, Couches, Refrigerators Etc. -Call/Text for bulk pickup (865) 548-2900
Medical: Syringes -Call your local pharmacy for proper disposal
Bin/Lid Replacement:
Customers are responsible for their bin(s) & lid(s) from the time they are delivered to the time they are retrieved. There is an $80.00 replacement fee per bin or $40.00 replacement fee per lid.
Suspension of Service:
Service may be suspended for the following reasons;
1. Past due invoices (Service may extend to the Friday following the 16th)
2. Any "WASTE GUIDELINEs" and/or "TERMS & CONDITIONs" violations.
Infestation of Bin(s): (rodent, animal or bug)
Customer is responsible for the cleanliness both in and outside of their bins. In the event of an infestation Smoky Valley Garbage reserves the right to impose immediate suspension of service for the health and safety of workers. Service will be restored only after the infestation has been remediated and bin has been cleaned or replaced. If bins are damaged the customers must pay a repair/replacement fee before service will resume.
Processing Fees:
Processing fees cover adding/deleting your information into our billing system, adding/deleting your residence to our route system as well as delivery/pickup/sanitizing of bin(s).
Abandonment of Service:
Is defined as any customer whom ceases to make payments while still in possession of SVG bin(s). Once "Abandonment of Service" is suspected the customer will be notified by email and/or texts and will have 24 hours to complete the "Cancel Service" form should the intent be to stop service. There is a $100 fee "per attempt" to collect bins for accounts that fail to complete the "Cancel Service" form and adhere to requirements.
Theft of Service:
Tennessee Code 39-14-104: A person commits theft of service if they use services meant for others for their own benefit or leaving a business without paying for service.
Termination of Service:
Accounts may be terminated at any time due to:
1. Delinquent payments
2. Noncompliance of "terms and conditions" and/or "waste guidelines"
3. Service to your address is no longer viable
4. Other reasons not listed
Rescheduled Pickups:
Holidays- Service is delayed one day for all federal holidays
Alerts- Weather and other conditions may cause routes to be rescheduled or delayed. Rescheduling will be posted on our "Holiday" page
* There is no return service should customer miss the rescheduled pickup day
Missed Service:
Should your service be missed without reason you will receive a free return pickup only if:
1. You submit a request on our comment section before Friday of the week your waste was missed
2. Your bin was out the night before service
3. There is no photo verification of our attempt to service
There is a $80.00 one time pickup fee
Cancelling Service: (These steps must be followed to cancel service)
1. Fill out the "CANCEL SERVICE" application (above) no later than 7 days prior to your next invoice date.
2. The following must be completed before your service may be cancelled:
a. All invoices must be paid
b. All bin(s) must be emptied, clean and in good condition for pickup
3. Customers are responsible for the bin(s) issued to them until "Cancel Service" form has been completed.
Bin Return Policy:
I the customer am responsible for my bin(s) until they are retrieved. I understand bins are picked up at the end of my billing cycle and I am responsible for their return until that point. Should I require my bin to be retrieved before that point a standard $80.00 service fee will apply.
Release of Liability:
Smoky Valley Garbage, its owners and employees will not be held liable for any damages in and around bins while service is being conducted. Customers are required to maintain an adequate 3 foot space around each bin(s) as well as to and from bins. Customers are responsible for gaining permission from any neighbors whose properties must be accessed or crossed to perform your service.
Billing:
All invoices will be emailed to your account and may be paid online via "REVIEW & PAY" button or by ACH (automated) transfer.
Monthly invoices are due on the 16th of the month issued.
Quarterly invoices are due Jan 16th, Apr 16th, Juy 16th & Oct 16th.
Biannual invoices are due Jan 16th & July 16th
Annual invoices are due Jan 16th.
Declined or bounced checks will be charged a $50.00 fee.
Late Payments:
All payments are due on the 16th of the month they were issued. A 10% late fee may apply to any payment made after this date.
Price Guarantees:
Guarantees apply only to customers signing up while guarantee is posted. Prices are fixed from signup for the duration stated on the posting. *Three or more late payments or change in service will void price guarantee.
